Oysters, Camels, and Outhouses!

Oysters, camels, parades, concerts, and outhouses round out the usual and unusual a visitor can see in Virginia City. 2012 is sure to not disappoint.

Who would have ever thought that camels could race? But that's just what they do when they're not spitting at their opponents every September in Virginia City. Camels were used by the U.S. Army to pack wood, salt and freight in the 1860s. Hundreds gather for this hilarious event. One month later, people with a penchant for having "places to go" race down Virginia City streets with outhouses. No deposit required for this must-see-to-believe event.
