The Comstock History Center’s permanent exhibit features the original Virginia & Truckee Railroad steam engine, No. 18, “Dayton” and several historic photographs and images depicting the Comstock area during its heydays of 1859 – 1890. The attached info sheet highlights the working career and some statistics about the “Dayton” steam engine and tender car.
Admission: No admission charged, but donations are greatly appreciated.
Special Events: Currently featuring an exhibit on loan from the Nevada State Museum entitled, “Havens in a Heartless World”. The exhibit features numerous historical artifacts and accompanying information recovered during the archeological exploration of four historic Virginia City saloons that operated during the late 1800s.
